+The system runs an integrity control of retentive variables by the applicaiton of a CRC to the nonvolatile data memory. This detects any corruption and prevents the application from starting up, signalling the situation by flashing the led {{led:led_lamp.jpg?nolink&20}} **err** as shown in  [[#Err led signals]].\\
+For the application to function again, a new download of the application must be performed with the development environment, or the "Reset Error Checksum" system function. These operations delete the error status and __**zero-setsall retentive variables**__.
